Mr. Blonigan joined Intevac in July 2013 as President and Chief Executive Officer. He brings over 25 years of executive management experience and extensive technology expertise that spans the solar, flat panel display and semiconductor capital equipment markets. Prior to joining Intevac, Mr. Blonigan co-founded Orbotech LT Solar in 2009 and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. From 2006 until 2009, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Photon Dynamics, Inc. In 1991, Mr. Blonigan joined Applied Materials’ AKT display subsidiary, a developer and manufacturer of complex front-end deposition machinery for the global LCD industry. During his tenure at AKT, he held various positions of increasing responsibility. In 2003, he was appointed President and served in this role until 2006; from 1999 through 2003 he was Vice President, and prior to that time he was Director of Engineering and New Product Development. Mr. Blonigan is an inventor who holds 57 patents, and received a B.S. in Electronic Engineering Technology from Missouri Institute of Technology/Devry.
Mr. Moniz joined Intevac in November 2014 as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Moniz has more than 30 years of senior financial management experience. Most recently, Mr. Moniz was Chief Financial Officer of Nanometrics, Inc. Prior to Nanometrics, he was Chief Financial Officer for Photon Dynamics. From 2000 until 2008, Mr. Moniz was the Chief Financial Officer of Nextest Systems Corporation. Prior to Nextest, Mr. Moniz held senior financial management positions at Millennia Vision Corporation, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Loral Corporation and Varian Associates. Mr. Moniz received a B.S. in Accounting and Marketing from San Jose State University, and an M.B.A from San Jose State University.
Mr. Cho joined Intevac in January 2014 as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Thin Film Equipment. Mr. Cho was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of REEnewal Corporation prior to joining Intevac. Mr. Cho has more than 25 years of senior management and wide-ranging technical experience in high technology equipment companies. Before founding REEnewal, he served as Vice President and General Manager of Orbotech Ltd. for the Tester and Repair Business Units from 2006 to 2011, and Vice President of Product Development at Metara, Inc. during 2005 and 2006. Prior to Metara, Mr. Cho spent 13 years at Novellus Systems. While at Novellus Systems, Mr. Cho held several senior management positions, including Vice President and General Manager of Novellus' Surface Integrity Group. Mr. Cho received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington State University, did Post Graduate Studies in Electrical Engineering at University of Washington, and holds an M.B.A from the University of Phoenix. He currently holds two patents.
Dr. Michael Russak was appointed Executive Advisor for all aspects of the HDD business in January 2014. Dr. Russak is also a member of the corporate strategy team which sets the technical and business direction for the company. From July 2008 through December 2013 Dr. Russak was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Hard Disk Equipment Business. Prior to joining Intevac, Dr. Russak spent six years at Komag, Inc. as the President and Chief Technical Officer. Earlier, he served as Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of Research and Development at HMT for seven years. Prior to his time at HMT, Dr. Russak held various management positions in the Research Division of IBM Corporation. Previously, Dr. Russak worked for Grumman Aerospace Corporation as a contributing scientist and was involved in mission critical projects including the re-entry heat shield for NASA's space shuttle. In 2007, Dr. Russak served as the Executive Director of IDEMA-U.S. From 1999 to 2006, he also served as a member of the U.S. Board of Directors of IDEMA. He has published over 90 technical papers and holds 23 patents. Dr. Russak received a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science from Rutgers University.
Ms. Burk is Vice President of Human Resources for Intevac. She previously held the position of Human Resource Director from 2000 to 2008. Prior to joining Intevac, Ms. Burk served as Human Resources Manager of Moen, Inc. from 1999 to 2000 and as Human Resources Manager of Lawson Mardon from 1994 to 1999. Ms. Burk holds a BS in sociology from Northern Illinois University. Ms. Burk is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
Mr. Terry Bluck is Chief Technical Officer of Thin Film Business of Intevac Inc. Mr. Bluck rejoined Intevac as Vice President, Technology of Equipment Products Division in August 2014. Mr. Bluck previously worked at Intevac from December 1996 to November 2001 in various engineering positions. The business unit Mr. Bluck worked for was sold to Photon Dynamics in November 2002, and he was employed there as Vice President, Rapid Thermal Process Product Engineering until August 2004. Mr. Bluck holds a B.S. in Physics from San Jose State University and in excess of 20 U.S. patents related to thin film processing and equipment.
Mr. Justyn, 55, has served as the Company's senior vice president of global operations since February 2015. Previously, Mr. Justyn was vice president, Photonics from October 2008 until February 2015, and was vice president, Thin-film Equipment manufacturing from April 1997 until October 2008. Mr. Justyn joined Intevac at its founding in February 1991 and has served in various other roles in both our Thin-film Equipment and Photonics businesses over the past 27 years. Mr. Justyn holds a BS in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Mr. Verle Aebi has been Chief Technology Officer of Photonics Business of Intevac Inc. since August 2006. Mr. Aebi served as President of the Photonics Division of Intevac Inc. from July 2000 to July 2006. He served as General Manager of the Photonics Division since May 1995 and was elected as Vice President of Intevac Inc. in September 1995. From 1988 to 1994, Mr. Aebi was Engineering Manager of Intevac Inc.'s night vision business, where he was responsible for new product development in the areas of advanced photocathodes and image intensifiers. Mr. Aebi holds B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
